Northern Virginia Alumnae Chapter members, Carolyn A. Reichard, Xi, The University of Kansas, and Linda J. Fleming, Epsilon Epsilon, The University of Georgia, describe their visit to Waterville, Maine to see Colby College and Pine Grove Cemetery, where Founders Mary Low Carver and Elizabeth G. Hoag, Alpha, Colby College, are buried. This original report was enclosed in a letter from Reichard and Fleming to Mrs. J. Stannard Baker.

The author of this essay describes Emily Peace Meader's, Alpha, Colby College, life and her time at Colby College, and recounts an episode in which a young Meader wrote a short play for a group of children to perform, only to have their parents forbid the production. The script of the play is included at the end of the essay. Meader was a cousin of Elizabeth G. Hoag, Alpha, Colby College and the second initiate of Alpha Chapter.
